COVID-19 related information:
At this moment in Latvia it is allowed to organize events in August with up to 3000 persons in outdoors and 250 persons in indoors (500 persons if area is more than 1000m2).
Information for travellers to Latvia on the provisions for preventing the spread of COVID-19:
When travelling to Latvia, all people will not have to self-isolate for a 14-day period, unless the country from where the people are travelling or are crossing in transit, have not had a 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases exceeding 16 individuals per 100,000. All travellers, including citizens and permanent residents of Latvia, who have arrived from countries in which the 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases has exceeded 16 individuals per 100,000, must self-isolate for a 14-day period upon arrival in Latvia. Epidemiological statistical data regarding the European Union and third countries on the incidence of COVID-19 cases is being updated every Friday on the website of the Latvia’s Centre for Disease Prevention and Control: https://spkc.gov.lv/lv/tavai-veselibai/aktualitate-par-jauno-koronavi/valstu-saslimstibas-raditaji-a/
As alternative of 14 day self-isolation:
- Person may submit to the organizer of an international sports event in Latvia a copy of a certifying document (presenting the original upon request) that he or she has undergone a laboratory examination for Covid-19 diagnostics not earlier than three days before arrival in the territory of the Republic of Latvia;
- Person has performed a laboratory examination for Covid-19 diagnostics no later than 24 hours after arrival in the territory of the Republic of Latvia and Covid-19 infection has not been detected therein by submitting a copy of the relevant fact document (presenting the original upon request) to a responsible medical person specified by Until the person has received the results of the said laboratory examination, Article 56.1 of these Regulations shall apply to him or her. the requirement for self-insulation referred to in subparagraph;
- If the person’s stay in the Republic of Latvia related to participation in an international sports event exceeds five days, he / she has undergone a repeated laboratory examination for Covid-19 diagnostics on the 5th, 10th and 15th day after leaving the country published on the Centre’s website , which is subject to special precautionary and restrictive measures and does not detect Covid-19 infection;
- Person prior to arrival in the territory of the Republic of Latvia (simultaneously with accreditation for an international sports event) or not later than 24 hours after arrival in the territory of the Republic of Latvia has submitted to the organizer of an international sports event in Latvia a confirmation that will comply with all restrictions specified for the prevention of the spread of Covid-19 infection.
